DLR Group has an opening for an experienced creative and innovative Landscape Architect

We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home.

Location: Overland Park, KS (Kansas City metro area)

As a Landscape Architect, you will be responsible for developing creative, sustainable, and functional site and landscape designs for our diverse group of clients across the United States. As part of our integrated design teams, you will design and create sites integral with the architecture with the goal of elevating the human experience through design.

Position Summary

You will be responsible for working in a dynamic and multidisciplinary design team to produce site and landscape architecture for: K-12 Educational; Higher Educational, Sports, Hospitality, commercial and municipal projects of all sizes and complexities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience in managing workflow and projects
  • Collaborate with other architects, engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process.
  • Create and coordinate documents using Autodesk’s CAD software.
  • Prepare planning and design solutions for sustainable project development and assist through all stages of the design process.
  • Write and review site and landscape related specifications.
  • Review of Shop Drawings.
  • Conduct site visits.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Previous experience working in an A/E design firm for six to 10 years.
  • Licensed Landscape Architect or currently in the process of completing the L.A.R.E.
  • Goal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, graphic communication, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and interest in designing sustainable sites, landscape, and irrigation design.
  • Project management and construction experience.
  • Site Master Planning experience.
  • An appreciation and understanding of the integrated design process and a desire to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines.
  • Experience with BIM or Autodesk Civil 3D project development and workflow.
  • Knowledge of LandFx, ArcGIS and Adobe Creative Cloud software.
