As a Plumbing Designer at DLR Group you will be responsible for the design of Plumbing systems from schematics through construction administration on a wide range of building types. As part of our integrated design teams you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

Position Summary 

You'd be responsible for participating in the design process of plumbing building systems and preparing detailed design calculations and drawings to code.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
  • Develop plumbing designs from concept through completion of construction.
  • Prepare plumbing design calculations and layouts.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
  • Coordinate plumbing design requirements with HVAC, electrical, architecture, structure and other disciplines.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Certified in Plumbing Design, CPD Certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a plumbing designer.
  • Proven experience as a plumbing designer designing plumbing building systems on complex projects.
  • Proven experience using Autodesk REVIT MEP software for construction document production
  • Experience editing construction document specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
  • An appreciation and understanding of architectural design and how architects work and think.
  • Experience and personal demeanor to train entry level mechanical designers.
  • LEED Accredited Professional and previous experience participating in the LEED or other green rating system process.
  • Experience designing plumbing systems for Commercial Educational (K-12 and Higher Education), Workplace, Civic Projects, or Government projects (State or Federal).
