Structural Engineer

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for developing creative, reliable, and economical structural designs for our diverse group of clients. 

As part of our integrated design teams you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

Position Summary 

You will be responsible for working in a multidisciplinary design team to produce construction documents.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Perform structural analysis and design calculations, applying governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
  • Design structural components and systems, from preliminary layout to construction details.
  • Produce construction drawings using CAD and BIM.
  • Perform field inspections of new construction or investigations and evaluations of existing structures.
  • Prepare written reports conveying professional opinions related to observations, design and construction issues.
  • Apply creative problem-solving skills to various and multiple project situations involving structures and structural engineering.
  • Meet and coordinate project work with clients, contractors and other design team members representing architectural, mechanical, electrical, process, and other disciplines.
  • Perform construction phase contract administration services, including reviewing shop drawings and other contractor submittals, attending construction progress meetings, responding to contractor Requests For Information, and facilitating project construction quality.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
  • 4-10 years of experience in the A/E industry.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RAM, RISA-3D).
  • Goal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Masterís degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering
  • Licensed Structural Engineer (S.E.)
  • Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
  • An appreciation and understanding of architectural design and how architects work and think.
  • Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit Structure) work flow.
