The Science + Technology team has an opening for an experienced Project Architect.

Position Summary:

As a Project Architects for DLR Group, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of project document development for Science & Technology based projects in the Higher Education sector both large and small. You will also be responsible for coordination with project team members to maintain work product quality within the established project schedule.

We are integrated in every phase of a lab project, from programming through construction, resulting in sustainable laboratory environments that support scientific protocols, foster creativity, enhance safety, and optimize efficiency for these intense, intellectual user groups.

Some of our current laboratory project work includes NIST, University of Colorado, Rice University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Particle Measuring Systems.

A successful candidate will:

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of, and the ability to coordinate and lead, the design disciplines in developing technical solutions.
  • Have knowledge of all aspects of professional practice from schematic design through project close-out.
  • Be able to work and present ideas in a team environment as well as self-manage and self-motivate in a creative environment.
  • Possess a high level of technical proficiency in the production of drawings.
  • Work directly with Project Managers and Designers in the conceptual development of project documents.
  • Grow as a leader of the in-house team, coordinating with engineers, interior designers, the PM, and consultants.

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional Degree in Architecture or related field.
  • 5 -10+ years of experience and currently in the role of Project Architect, preferably on Science & Technology projects.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk REVIT and CAD computer modeling and rendering software.
  • Ability to make independent design decisions from a sound base of knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience with Science and Technology projects with a proven record of applying the technical and design aspects specific to this project type.
  • Must be open to travel occasionally to support project tasks.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship.
